The support for Red Dead 2 and GTA Online wouldn’t take up a large team at all, so it’s safe to assume the majority of Rockstar has been working on their next game since they launched Red Dead 2.Welcome to /r/GrandTheftAutoV, the subreddit for all GTA V related news, content, and discussions revolving around Rockstar's critically acclaimed single player release and the ongoing multiplayer expansion of Grand Theft Auto Online. Rockstars next game will probably be announced and out in the next 4 years most likely. GTA 5 was in development for like 5 years, as was Red Dead 2. Red Dead Redemption 2 only released 3 years ago. Hell if they are popular enough they could just hammer home Rockstars focus on single player even further. These remasters will have no affect on the game rockstar is currently developing at all, they are essentially just nice little profit boosters for Take-two and Rockstar. It’s not like they are full blown remakes on the level of something like KOTOR. These definitive editions are probably being made by a skeleton crew of developers and that’s assuming they haven’t been outsourced to another developer completely. These projects literally aren’t taking away from Rockstars resources. I do wonder though if with the remaster they'll do other things like add motorcycles and airplanes/helicopters to GTA3. Would be cool if they did, but I doubt it. ![]() Its probably too much work remastering and retooling games originally built for the PSP for games that ultimately don't have the star power of the 3D Trilogy. Sadly I wouldn't count on them throwing in Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories into this release either, even as DLC down the road. They're probably keeping most things as-is while doing minor graphics and gameplay tweaks (including removing old bugs and glitches from the games) to keep it from feeling too old compared to newer games. I doubt Rockstar is in the mood to renegotiate music licenses on 20 year old games, nor are they keen on adding new songs to replace those lost (which in their defense is a fairly small number, its not like GTAIV where they almost lost an entire in-game radio station due to the music licenses expiring and had to quickly scrounge together new tracks to replace those lost).
